Itinerary

In the early morning around 6am pickup from your hotel in Cusco for our departure to the town of Quillabamba. On the way we will descend by the famous Abra Malaga (4316msnm), to the city of “Eternal Summer”. Along the way we will pass through beautiful landscapes of plantations of coffee and delicious fruits, that will make our most exciting trip.
Before reaching the city of Quillabamba, we stop at Maranura, where we stop in a farm for coffee and cacao plantation. A member of the family will take you around the farm, where they will explain about the type of work that they regularly perform. You will have the opportunity to try fruit that is in season, learn about different proposal plants. However, principally they will focus on the process of cacao and coffee production. After this visit to the farm, you will participate in the traditional roasting of cacao and coffee beans. At the end of this activity, you will all enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, which you will prepare using traditional methods.

We will then follow our drive to Quillabamba, which we will arrive around 4pm

Overnight  in Quillabamba

Early in the morning after enjoying breakfast, we will start our drive for about 2 hours to the city of Santa Teresa, where we can enjoy the Colcamayo hot springs. Here you can take some time to take a hot bath, in an impressive environment of abundant vegetation next to a huge river; The place looks like a fantasy, but you can buy beers and snacks. Hot springs are Mother Nature’s method for infusing relaxation into tired bodies. The hot springs of Colcalmayo are a popular destination among travelers seeking a connection to land and its balance.

After our relaxing bath, we will head to the train station about 40 minutes from Santa Teresa. From where we will take our train to Aguas Calientes, the train trip will take approx. 30 minutes.

Aguas Calientes, a small town located in the foothills of Machu Picchu mountain. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, we will go to our hotel to rest and regain strength for our great reward, visiting the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes

After breakfast at the hotel, we take the bus to Machu Picchu, where we will have a tour with our professional guide the extraordinary citadel, lasting 2-3 hours. After the tour you will have free time to explore, take pictures, or take a walk and visit the Puertadel Sol (IntiPunku).
After exploring Machu Picchu, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch, collect your belongings from your hotel and go to the station to take the train back to Cusco. On arrival at the train station in Ollantaytambo our transportation will be waiting to return to Cusco.
