Itinerary

8:00 am. We start from Arequipa in 4×4 transport, which will take us at a height of approximately 3320 m.a.s.l. from there we will start the walk of approx. 6 hours until reaching a height approx. 4500 m.a.s.l. where we will camp at the “nest of eagles” campsite.

Misti volcano is considered the guardian of the white city of Arequipa. To climb this volcano, you don’t need a technical preparation, for its ease, ascending to the Misti volcano is more considered as a high-altitude trekking, which will give us one of the most wonderful experiences in the vicinity of the White City.

Camping Night

04:00 am we will begin the ascent to the summit, which will take approx 6 hours, and then at a height of 5825 m.a.s.l. enjoy a spectacular view, from where you can appreciate the city of Arequipa and its surroundings, the Chachani and the Pichu Pichu, and in general the western mountain range of the Andes.

Descent to the base camp, we collect things and continue until we find mobility and return to the city. We will arrive in the white city at approximately 4:00 pm

Recommended  list

  • Local Money ( Soles) at least S/150.00 per person
  • Backpack 70Lt minimum to carry all your personal things and camping gear
  • Sleeping bag -10ºC (can be hired from our office in Arequipa)
  • Walking poles (recommended)
  • Rain jacket or poncho, plastic ponchos (just in the rain season Dec – April)
  • Windproof jacket & pants
  • Headlamp with plenty of batteries
  • Strong comfortable and waterproof boots
  • One complete change of clothing
  • Sweater and thermal pants and everything you can have to be warm
  • 6 liters of water per person minimum
  • Hat or cap and sun block to be protected from the strong sun
  • Toilet paper
  • Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, etc
  • Sunglass is strongly recommended to protect your eyes from the snow and sun
