This sacred place is known as the passage from life to death and was built by the Collas, Aymara-speaking culture later conquered by the Incas. These tombs show an intricate construction and are surrounded by impressive flora and fauna, among these the vizcacha, wild animal place. We will be back in Puno around 6pm.

Overnight in Puno

Our tour begins with pick up from the bus station at 07:30 h. Then we will move to the port of Lake Titicaca, where our local guide will be waiting with the boat to begin our adventure on Lake Titicaca. Once we left, our guide will explain important points of this great lake, and after 30 minutes we arrive at the floating islands of the Uros. Here we stop at an island, visit its inhabitants and learn about the customs of these communities living for years in the highlands. In the community of the Uros we take a raft made of reeds and a little stroll on the lake. Later we return to the boat and continue our journey towards the island of Amantani.
The trip takes about 3 hours boat. Upon arrival you will be greeted by groups of islanders who provide us accommodation at their humble homes. The afternoon is free to explore on your own or simply to share the evening with family and children. Shortly before sunset, our guide will invite to make a short walk to a small hill known as Pachatata, where an archaeological complex built by the ancient cultures that inhabited the island long ago is located. From this point, we can also see a beautiful sunset.
Then we descend to our homes and have dinner with our respective families. Later we will see a folklore festival, where we can dance with the local people dances in the area. Previously, being in our homes, our families give us traditional clothing to attend the party. In the women they are dressed in very colorful skirts and blouses beautiful hand embroidery and a black veil. The men were given a very long one Chuyo poncho (wool cap typical of the Andes). Once ready, we will go to the party, in which we also find with many other tourists. The party lasted a couple of hours.
Overnight with a local family.

After breakfast, you have free time to go for a stroll through the picturesque streets of this colorful island. Then we will move on by boat to Taquile Island, where locals speak Quechua and have developed an efficient and thin social system that are unique, also weaving techniques.
On reaching the village of Taquile we will have a typical lunch. Then we walk through the hills and archaeological sites of this 6km island. In the afternoon, we return to Puno by motorboat. You will have the night free to enjoy the food and nightlife of Puno.
